Magazine Article and Competition

This locally based free to children magazine has undergone a big facelift with the help of our graphic designers. What Can We Do Today is a magazine aimed at families with primary school aged children who are looking for things to do in the holidays in Leicestershire, who like helpful, informative articles and of course who like a bargain!

This, issue 12, of What Can We Do Today was designed, produced and print managed by the team at Mulberry Square; we even gave a helping hand to the copywriting! It was distributed at the beginning of this week to primary schools around Charnwood, including a few schools who haven’t received it before. It features various articles ranging from health to entertainment with a generous helping of discount vouchers and competitions thrown in too.

The New Website

On top of the work our marketing services team completed for the magazine, our web design lot were busy converting the old website over to a brand new Wordpress based site. What Can We Do Today is now a great website for reading reviews of places to visit in the area, for entering competitions to win tickets to local attractions, or just for finding cheaper deals at local businesses and places to go!

Why not try it now for some ideas about what you can do today….

The Highs

Yesterday afternoon, like so many of you, our thoughts turned to football and whether England
would progress from the group stages into the last 16. Thanks to Craig, we closed our marketing services office early and trooped over to his house for a hotly anticipated bbq. Good food and fine weather in Loughborough were something we could at least rely upon!

And so we sat yesterday afternoon, ready and waiting to see what England had in store for us after *that* game against Algeria last Friday…

After a lacklustre start, accompanied by a fair bit of grumbling in between eating our collective bodyweights in snack food, things started to pick up with some good chances. Defoe finally put us ahead part way through the first half amidst lots of cheering and jumping up from everyone there. No drinks spilled luckily!

Back in from the garden and into position for the second half, the initial grumbling had stopped and we were finally happy with the way the boys were playing: ball control, accurate passes and shots on goal! Make that lots of shots on goal, including the heart-breaking disallowed second goal. I suppose they were offside though if we’re sticking to rules. Lots more chances for England to kill the game and put a few more goals between themselves and Slovenia but alas it was not to be. A nail biting last 10 minutes saw the room quiet and tense before the final whistle brought us some relief and we could start the bbq safe in the knowledge that we had lived to play another day…. against Germany. Ah well, at least Dave has them in the office sweepstake!

“The first thing that strikes me about the people at Mulberry Square is their ability to listen to what their clients want. From just one meeting with me they were able to design a brand logo for Bizzing that I feel really reflects how Bizzing should come across and I was able to approve the design without changes.

As Mulberry Square think ahead when designing branding and logos, they can be easily used in all aspects of future marketing and merchandising, both online and in print. The quality you get in all levels of services from Mulberry Square is well worth the cost of their services, if not more.

The first design and layout of the Bizzing website was also spot on and not much had to be changed. I told them what Bizzing will be doing and they came back with a website design and layout that really reflects what I wanted. This just goes to show they listen and how professional they are.

Mulberry Square have a very friendly and professional team of people who provide a very high quality of service and work whether it’s a temporary website or a full long term one. The people at Mulberry Square really try to understand your business and its goals and work with you to achieve them. Whether you are self employed or a big company the level and quality of service are always high. I fully recommend Mulberry Square and all its services to every one.”

The Finished Cover

Mulberry Square was recently asked to print manage a wedding photography booklet, “A Guide To Posing”. We were supplied with the digital artwork and the copy for the booklet and were tasked to find the right printer, paper, finishing and binding to perfectly complement the images contained within.

With such important images; those of a bride and groom on their wedding day, it was essential that the colour management of this booklet was perfect. The effects of the lighting on people’s faces can make or break an image and so our pre-flighting expertise was key to ensuring the look of this booklet lived up to its potential. Happily, as we at Mulberry Square always employ cutting edge digital proofing – to FOGRA standards – you can rest assured that your printing will always be picture perfect.
