Health & Safety Policy Statement

1. General Statement

The Health and Safety of all our employees, self-employed associates, visitors, clients, service users and members of the public who are, or who may be affected by our operations is of paramount importance to us.

Senior Management has reviewed Health, Safety, and Environmental Legislation when considering our responsibilities and setting our Health and Safety Policy objectives.

2. Company Responsibilities

We will ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work of all employees. We will manage our business in such a way, and so far as is reasonably practicable, that the safety and welfare of persons not employed by us are not exposed to risks.

This policy document explains in broad terms what must be done by everyone within Mulberry Square Limited to achieve these objectives. The aim is to provide a sound basis for co-operation between management and employees and is intended to encourage continuous improvement of our Health, Safety and Environmental performance.

3. Objectives and Commitment

3.1. Our objectives are to:

  • Risk reduction, prevention of injury and loss due to damage.
  • Identify health and safety hazards and manage those hazards so that the risks are effectively controlled.
  • Work to safety standards which satisfy our statutory requirements and reflect good industry working practices.
  • Review and develop these standards continuously. Revise them accordingly when changes in legislation, industry practice or technology occur.

3.2. We are committed to consult with employees on health, safety and welfare issues by:

  • Ensuring that our employees are trained to understand and carry out their responsibilities. This will involve, but will not be limited to, selection, training, re-training and continuous assessment of employee performance.
  • Continually monitoring this policy by auditing and reviewing its effectiveness in the workplace.

 4. Legal Obligations

We recognise the legal obligations placed on us by the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and other Statutory Legislation as may be applicable to our undertaking.
Our Health and Safety documentation and records will be made freely accessible to employees, self-employed associates, visitors, clients, service users and members of the public who may be affected by our operations.

Employees will be made aware of this facility and are obliged to familiarise themselves with the contents of this Manual as it contains essential information for their health, safety and welfare. Should any employee have any questions on any health and safety related matter they must raise it with their immediate supervisor.

5. Health & Safety Advisory Service

In order to assist us in our undertaking we have appointed NatWest Mentor Services Health & Safety Service to provide competent advice and guidance, to which we will duly adhere.

New CRM software package sees lite of day!

To support the marketing of its internet products and services, and the management of its database through Mulberry Square, the company has invested in OSX CRM software package, Daylite Productivity Suite from Marketcircle Inc.
It was vital that any package introduced to their network was compatible with other Mac based programs and its production management software, Studiometry from Oranged.net

Year end accounts reveal healthy growth for Mulberry Square Limited

Mountsorrel based 'Print & Internet Services' company, Mulberry Square Limited, has just released its latest annual financial accounts.
Its turnover for the year ending 30th June 2007 reached £316,362 an increase of 15%, with pre-tax profits which coming in at £17,292 up 285% on the previous year. These positive figures were achieved despite a slimming down of its senior management team mid term and difficult trading conditions brought on by the UK economic slow down.

Positive first quarter results driven by internet boost

I am pleased to announce that our company has seen a growth in internet based business during the first quarter of our trading year.
This growth has resulted in an overall increase in our gross and net profit figures by 26% compared to the first quarter of last year.

Enhanced Telecommunications Investment

To accompany Mulberry Square Limited's recent expansion, taking on a new Artworker and Marketing Manager, the company has upgraded it's telephone system.
Reaction to the enhanced customer experience has been extremely positive with many callers commenting on the professional manner with which they were dealt with.
