Background
Burton College offers over 500 courses and has over 2,000 full-time students and 9,000 attending part-time. The College also provides HE courses through the University of Derby and Nottingham Trent University and the College’s Foundation Degrees are accredited by Staffordshire University.
Task
- To take the pre-specified term ‘Burton bug’ and develop it into a full blown creative marketing campaign that will engage with 14 – 19 year old audience
- The main driving project for implementation being the design of their Full-time FE Prospectus 2008 – 2009
Solution
- The Mulberry Square in-house photographers brought the bugs to life by carefully complementing them with relevant objects, specifically chosen to illustrate courses and prospective vocations offered by the college
- Creative, punchy copywriting to complement the visual creativity
- Specifically chosen images to interact with the bugs, offering personality to the copy
- Design and layout for the full-time prospectus, presenting clean, clear information whilst being appealing to the target audience and on brand
Results
- 12,000 prospectuses designed and print managed by Mulberry Square — Due to unprecedented demand, an extra 5,000 copies were required at a later date
- 11% increase in course applications
